Terms of service

1. What BuildersM8 is

BuildersM8 is online software for building firms: a CRM, a plan drawing tool, a quoting system, site audits and project management. These terms are the agreement between us and the business that signs up (you). By creating an account you accept them.

2. Your account

Give us accurate details when you sign up and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account, including what the people you invite do in it. You must be signing up for a business, not as a consumer.

3. The free trial

New accounts get 14 days free with no card. If you do not choose a plan by the end of the trial the account is locked. Nothing is deleted when that happens: choose a plan and you carry on where you left off.

4. Plans, price and payment

Plans are charged monthly in advance by card through Stripe, at the price shown on the pricing page when you subscribe, plus VAT. The price is for the whole firm, not per person. If we change our prices we will tell you at least 30 days before the change applies to you.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from the billing page. You keep access to the end of the month you have paid for and you will not be charged again. We do not refund part months, except where the law says we must.

6. Your data

Everything you put into BuildersM8 is yours: customers, jobs, drawings, quotes, photos and documents. We use it only to provide the service to you. If you ask, we will send you an export of your data, and we will delete your account and its data when you tell us to. How we handle personal information is set out in the privacy policy.

7. Prices and quantities are yours to check

BuildersM8 works out quantities from what you draw and prices them from the rates in your price book. The standard price book we start you with is a guide, not a promise of what materials or labour will cost you. You are responsible for checking the rates, the quantities and every quote before you send it, and for the prices you agree with your customers. BuildersM8 does not give structural, building regulations or legal advice, and a drawing made in it is not a substitute for an architect's or engineer's drawing.

8. Fair use

• Do not use BuildersM8 for anything unlawful.
• Do not try to get into another firm's account or data, or to break or overload the service.
• Do not resell the service or let another business use your account without our agreement in writing.

9. The service

We work hard to keep BuildersM8 running and your data safe, and we back it up. No online service can promise to be available every minute, and now and then we will need to take it down for maintenance. We will keep improving the software, which means features will change over time.

10. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or indirect loss, and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in those 12 months.

11. Ending the agreement

You can end it by cancelling. We can suspend or close an account that seriously breaks these terms or has not been paid for. If we close your account for any other reason we will give you at least 30 days' notice and a copy of your data.

12. Changes and the law that applies

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts decide any dispute.
